The fetal brain at 12 to 14 weeks is studied using ultrasound standard planes of section in the ‘first trimester screening scan’ done as a part of routine obstetric care.
• What are the standard planes of section?
• What are the checklist points for each section?
• Are there abnormalities of the brain that can be suspected or diagnosed at this gestational age?
• When do we ask for a repeat scan?
• Are there genetic implications of abnormalities detected?
Gynecology Academy announces its ‘Alumnus Webinar’ answering these questions in a very interactive, illustrative and comprehensive manner. Alumni of the Academy will present a journal article on the planes of sections of the normal brain and will discuss a wide spectrum of abnormal cases presented by the faculty members. Emphasis will be on the checklist of findings in every section and how these findings aid in the diagnosis of abnormalities.
The Academy conducts around three to four webinars in fetal medicine every year where the alumni actively participate under the mentorship of its faculty. Twenty nine such events have been conducted over the last five years. For the first time such a webinar (the 30th edition) is being open to all specialists engaged in fetal care.
Inviting you to participate in this very immersive session of the ‘First trimester fetal brain’.
