Dr Uma Ram is the Director and Lead Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Seethapathy Clinic & Hospital, Chennai, India. Her special areas of interest are high-risk obstetrics especially gestational diabetes, fetal growth and multiple pregnancies. She is the Chairperson of The International Representative Committee, RCOG India South. She is one of the founder members of the Association of Tamil Nādu members of RCOG.

She is actively involved in clinical research projects and has been the obstetric lead for international collaborative projects on GDM. She has organised conferences and workshops and has been an invited faculty to many national conferences.

  • A large part of her work includes high-risk obstetrics and managing women with medical problems in pregnancy.

  • She has been actively involved in post-graduate teaching both for the DNB and MRCOG. She has coordinated teaching and courses for the MRCOG since 2003 and is an examiner for the Part 3 MRCOG.

  • She is an honorary faculty for the Fetal Medicine Fellowship program at Mediscan, Chennai and the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship program at KIMS Trivandrum
